Cattle– 1288
There were 142 head less at Inverell to offer 1288 plainer quality cattle. Not all processors attended with restockers and feeder operators competing to varying trends. Weaners steers under 200kgs lwt sold up to 29c/kg better while the corresponding weight heifers also sold to dearer trends gaining 5c/kg. Heavier pens of weaner heifers to process were back 12c/kg to top at 152c/kg. Light yearling steers to feed were considerably cheaper shedding 29c/kg. Conversely restocker competition pushed similar steers to 248c/kg. Medium steers to feed resulted in a rise of 14c/kg with the steers in excess of 480kgs lwt also dearer. Yearling heifers were cheaper in the main with processor heifers most affected back 14c/kg. Light feeder heifers cheaper by 5c/kg 142 to 210c/kg. Heavy grown steers sold to 5c/kg rise however similar heifers were cheaper reaching 150c/kg. Light cows to feed 5c/kg better but the heavier classes were 16 to 21c/kg cheaper.
