Cattle– 1065
Inverell penned similar numbers at 1065 head. It was a very mixed quality offering with plainer types in all categories selling to cheaper trends. Conversely better bred weaners and yearlings sold to dearer trends with emphasis on the heifer offering. One processor absent with most regulars attending with subdued bidding on light and medium feeder steers. Weaner steers were cheaper 198c to 235c/kg with heifers up to 11c/kg better all to restockers. Yearling steers to restockers were 4c/kg dearer 208c to 262c/kg however the feeder drafts were back 13c/kg selling 222c to 258c/kg. Heavy yearling steers to process were marginally dearer 228c to 252c/kg. Light heifers to restocker interest sold 178c to 198c/kg cheaper by 9c/kg. Heavier drafts were dearer to feed up 18c/kg. Medium and heavy weight heifers were also dearer to top at 248c/kg. Grown heifers to process were firm 185c to 212c/kg. Medium cows were slightly cheaper and the heavy three and four score cows selling to slightly dearer trends of 6c/kg selling at 166c to 212c/kg.

Yarding– 5173 Lambs– 3707 Sheep– 1466
Inverell penned 3707 lambs and 1466 grown sheep which was an extra 1315 in total. It was a much larger offering of Dorper lambs in addition to crossbreds and a handy offering of well finished Merino lambs. The market was in decline for both sheep and lambs. Heavy lambs managed $125 to $128 for the heavy drafts while the top of the crossbred ewes saw values of $40 to $44/head. There were pens of plainer quality sheep and lambs registering bids of under $10/head. Light lambs to restockers $10 to $45/head while trade lambs ranged $70 to $88/head and heavy trades made to $108/head. Heavy trade Dorpers to $115/head and lambs in excess of 30kg/cwt made $110 to $128/head. Merino hoggets went back to restockers from $10 to $20/head. Light crossbred ewes made to $17/head and heavy crossbreds $30 to $40/head.
