Cattle– 126

Wide spread rain events through the drawing area reduced the offering to 126 mixed cattle. Not all regular buyers attended those who did pushed market trends to be considerably dearer on all categories.  Weaner steers sold to substantially dearer trends to restockers. Yearling steers to backgrounders ranged 250c to 308c/kg to an average of 30c/kg stronger. Medium feeder steers sold to much dearer trends of 28c/kg and heavy yearling steers to process up 11c/kg. Yearling heifers sold to restockers also to dearer trends 214c to 302c/kg.  Grown heifers were as much as 60c/kg better with similar heifers to the paddock considerably dearer making up to 240c/kg. Limited cow numbers resulted in heavy cows selling to 228c/kg and 26c/kg dearer. 

Sheep 

Yarding–  563 Lambs– 439 Sheep-124

Inverell numbers reduced significantly due to rainfall to offer 563 sheep and lambs 836 less than a fortnight ago. Lambs provided the bulk of the offering at 439 and there were 124 grown sheep. Quality was mixed and one major buyer was absent.  Only two pens of new season lambs with a live weight range of 52 to 55kgs and they made $122 to $125/head. Light lambs to the trade ranged $62 to $75/head. Merino lambs $69 to $100/head. Trade lambs were $11/head dearer to sell $100 to $108/head while heavy trades also dearer and sold to $125/head. Hoggets made $48/head.  Dearer trends through the Merino ewes selling to $55/head and crossbred ewes also to $55/head.
