Cattle – 1197

Inverell offered 1197 mixed cattle 195 less from last sale. Minimum export buyers with two major operators absent and a heavy cow buyer not operating. Backgrounders and feeders competing to subdued trends.  Weaners to cheaper trends steers to 404c/kg and heifers to 340c/kg with both categories going to restockers. Light yearling steers to feed and to background both sold to considerably cheaper trends. Similar sales for medium feeders 290c to 358c/kg and same weight steers to background significantly cheaper 328c to 376c/kg. Heavy yearling steers to process slipped 37c/kg and similar feeders to negative trends 300c to 344c/kg. Heifers reacted to similar trends restockers back 25c/kg  medium feeders back 27c/kg selling 232c to 328c/kg. Heavy feeders did sell to a dearer trend 327c to 339c/kg.  Grown steers to process 260c to 285c/kg and similar heifers to 280c/kg. Heavy cows slipped up to 23c/kg 260c to 272c/kg with three scores selling to 269c/kg.
